Thanks for dropping in!
My name is Shelby Griswold and I’m an actor, photographer, and brand consultant based in NYC. Most notably seen as Jane Seymour in Six the musical with NCL. Most recently in the regional premier of Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 with Idaho Shakespeare Festival. Stay tuned for what’s next!
“Shelby Griswold (Bridget) has a wonderful sense of comic timing. Her mobile face and line interpretations light up the stage. “ - Broadway World (Roy Berko)
“Griswold is particularly effective in capturing the endearing humor of a nerdy, awkward girl with a heart of gold. “ - Clevescene (Christine Howey)
“Shelby Griswold showed Sally as bouncy, full of vibrant life and, at the same time, one suffering from frenetic despair. (…) Griswold made Sally someone easy to like, dislike and fear for all at the same time — in other words, an ordinary human, except for her ability to belt out “Don’t Tell Mama” and wail “Cabaret.” - Cool Cleveland (Laura Kennelly)
“…Through the guidance of the girl’s mother (the captivating Shelby Griswold)(…)All the performers display multiple talents, most playing more than one instrument throughout.” - Clevescene (Roman Macharoni)
“Ensemble members playing her Czech friends and family, especially Shelby Griswold as mother Baruska, portray a passionate, loving people.” - Beacon Journal (Kerry Clawson)
After four amazing years at Baldwin Wallace University, I graduated in May 2020, summa cum laude, with a BM in Music Theatre and a Minor in Marketing. As challenging as graduating into a shut-down job market can be it has allowed me to explore my passions beyond singing, acting and dancing.
In this day and age, a young artist needs to not only possess talent and passion but also an entrepreneurial mindset. I enjoy discovering how to have a business-oriented approach to my work while still maintaining joy and love for the art form. Everything I do comes back to connecting with an audience, creating community, and feeding my creativity. Whether it’s doing my makeup, taking candid photos at a party or singing an epic ballad in front of thousands of people I can come home to these principles.
When I’m not on stage or in rehearsals you can find me leafing through a local book store, drawing a portrait, and spending way too much money on fancy cocktails. Additional guilty pleasures include makeup, thrifting, and reality TV. Follow me on Instagram @shelby__taylor to see what ridiculous situations I stumble into on a daily basis.
